One of the things I love about reflexology is that it’s a living, evolving practice. I’m newly qualified and at the start of my journey — which means the learning is fresh, and I’m genuinely excited to keep growing. Keeping up with new thinking and research is part of how I make sure the care I offer is the best it can be.
Reflexology has a long history, but it’s far from static. Practitioners, teachers and researchers continue to explore how and why it helps people feel better — particularly its role in relaxation and wellbeing. As a member of the Association of Reflexologists (AoR), I’m able to follow the latest developments and research in the field, and to keep my practice current.
Earning my Level 5 clinical qualification was a real achievement — and it’s the beginning, not the end. To stay registered with the AoR and the CNHC, I’m required to complete ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) each year — reading, training and reflecting on my practice — so my knowledge stays current and every treatment reflects up-to-date best practice. These standards are there to keep clients safe and well cared for.
No two treatments are ever the same. I take time to understand each person — their body, their wellbeing, and whatever is going on in their life at the time — and shape every session around them. That personal, attentive care is at the heart of what I do, and it’s what I want every client to feel from the moment they settle in.
If you’re curious about the wider world of reflexology, the Association of Reflexologists shares research and news across the profession — you can explore more on their website.
